Dear Church family,

I’m so grateful for you! You have shown compassion and generosity as we’ve prepared to receive our refugee family from the Democratic Republic of the Congo via Uganda. Not only was the special offering that we received only two weeks ago more than enough, but in an extremely short period of time, you’ve provided all that this family of four needs to set up an apartment and begin adjusting to their new lives here in the United States of America.

There are two more ways that you can be involved: 1) Pray for the Alex family. Mom and Dad are in their early 30’s, and they have a four year old son and a three year old daughter. Both children were born in a refugee camp, so there will be unbelievable adjustments. 2) Consider coming to the airport to welcome them. They arrive at 10:05 pm on this coming Wednesday, the 17th. Their flight is AA 5410 from Charlotte (you might want to check the flight’s status before heading to the airport). We want them to feel completely welcomed and loved! Make a sign and join us!!

We will continue to offer support and services to help this family adjust over the next months. If you’d like to be a part of that, please contact the church office.

Thanks once again for being the hands and feet of Jesus!

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday,

Kerry Dorrell

Pastor of Missions & Worship
