The Message is Hope

First Alliance Church

My oldest daughter started kindergarten this past fall.  It was a huge transition for us both being away from each other for seven hours straight.  Naturally, I counted down the hours until I could pick her up and ask her an abundance of questions.  I asked about her specials for the day, what she ate for lunch, but what I really wanted to know was if she was connecting with any new friends.

As I proceeded with my incessant yet loving questions she looked at me bright eyed and said “Mom! We are all friends with everyone.  We are in the same class!”  I mean, what was I thinking?  If only we could hold onto that childlike approach to new neighborhoods, new churches, & new communities.  What a gift to feel so welcomed and connected in a new place.  While we may not be instant best friends with everyone we meet, I think we can agree that no matter what season of life we are in a warm welcome is a true blessing.

I am excited to see what God has in store as we kick off a new ministry to warmly welcome those new to First Alliance.  Pastors and Pasta will be a quarterly luncheon held in our Family Life Center.  It is designed to be a fun and interactive way for new attenders to meet the pastoral staff, ask questions, and hear a little of the heart of our church.  If you are still checking out our church or have started coming over the last seven months, you are invited!  We encourage the whole family to come for this special time.  The first Pastors and Pasta will be held Sunday, April 14th from 12:15-1:00pm. Please be our guest!  You can RSVP right now by emailing me at or call the church office at 223-1394.  Who knows, maybe you’ll leave with a room full of new friends :).

Warmest blessings,
