As It Was in the Days of Noah

Date: February 8, 2015

Speaker: Dr. Steve Elliott

Text: Matthew 24:37

A darkened world where life had organized itself without reference to God.

And maybe the chaos back in Noah’s day was no greater than the chaos today… only wetter.

“The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of his heart was only evil all the time. The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.” Genesis 6:5-6

But you know as well as I that we do not get angry over our losses, we weep over them.

But truth is, if you watch the news closely, you cannot miss that in our day, it has already begun to rain.

Noah is betting his life and all of that effort on a voice!

And yet, like Noah, and like the others, he reaches for another piece of lumber and keeps building… building a life that is pleasing to God.

What you need to live through your Saturdays: 1) A covenant relationship with God, 2) You need an ark, 3) An olive leaf in a dove’s beak.

It was a lesson all about being ready for Jesus to come. That Jesus could come back any day.
