Text:  Luke 2:51-52

And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.     Luke 2:52

Where is the wise man?  Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this age?                                   I Corinthians 1:20

“Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”  And Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and made me king in this place.  Give me wisdom…, that I might lead this people…”      II Chronicles 1:7-10

Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do.      Proverbs 4:7 [LB]

We have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom.          Colossians 1:9

The Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.     Proverbs 2:6

How does a person become wise?  The first step is to trust and reverence the Lord.     Proverbs 1:7 [LB]

The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.     Psalm 19:7

He who walks with the wise grows wise.     Proverbs 13:20

“Father, make of me a crisis man.  Bring those I contact to decision.  Let me not be a milepost; but make me a fork, that people must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me.”     —Jim Elliot (1927-56)

The secret “is Christ himself.  He is the key that opens all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom…”          Colossians 2:2-3 [GN]

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.  But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.  Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.       James 1:5-6 [NLT]
