In the year of our Lord 1 A.D….

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever …”     (Deut. 29:29)

“But as for you, Bethlehem, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.”      (Micah 5:2)

“…all human wisdom is contained in these two words, ‘Wait and Hope.”  Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870)

And we want to fast forward life to the parts we want to live.

  • 1000 years ago William the Conqueror
  • 700 years ago Geoffrey Chaucer
  • 600 years ago Joan of Arc
  • 400 years ago King James

You are holding on to a promise God whispered to you and the years roll by and you wonder if He remembers the sound of His own whisper. And you wonder when that whisper will become a roar in your life.

“She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”  (Gen. 16:13 )

“Privilege is the enemy of hope.”   Christena Cleveland

So could it be that by daily living in the presence of God, Anna is present when God himself is present … when God himself is presented as a babe in arms.

“It was revealed to them (the writers of Scripture) that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you…”      (1 Peter 1:12)

Simeon would rather have bit off the end of his tongue than say aloud what he heard God saying in his ear. the blessing was a fierce one.
