I have a confession. Sometimes when I hear people say “I’m going through a season,” I’m tempted to roll my eyes. It sounds just a little cheesy, cliche, and quite honestly, very Christian. But I must admit, it’s a great way to talk about life! Seasons come and go. There are tough seasons, beautiful seasons, straight up hard seasons, and refreshing seasons. We experience them in the crazy and flabbergasting KY weather, and we experience them in our crazy and often flabbergasting lives.

As I reflect on the past few weeks, both in the main service and throughout student ministry, I feel we are in a season of challenge. I sense God is challenging our FAC family to something big. Something more. I can’t quite put my finger on it yet, but I’m excited to see it play out.

If you are anything like me, you want to run from challenge. It’s much easier to skate along, both in our personal lives and our spiritual lives. In this season of challenge, I challenge you to lean in to what God is saying rather than give in to the temptation to pull away or flat out run. Imagine what could happen if the entire FAC family accepted the challenge God has for us! I truly believe the possibilities are endless.

Often we equate challenge with difficult. But what if we started to view this season of challenge with a sense of expectation and excitement? Will you join me in asking God what he is challenging you to?
