Summer is here!  School and AC units are out, and the “gentle” hum of lawn mowers can routinely be heard throughout Lexington.  This also means our annual Preschool VBS is back.  This is our 6th year with this special program and things just keep getting better.  Each summer our middle school students spend their time together dreaming up and crafting a wonderful week of VBS for preschoolers.

This past Wednesday night the students debated a number of different themes ranging from Gideon, Esther, and Miracles to Deserts of the Bible, Bible Holidays, and Monsters of Revelation.  Eventually, and thankfully, they chose David as their theme for 2019.  When we say that the students make all the decisions, we mean it.  Any student that has served during the week of VBS can tell you horror stories of ideas that went terribly wrong.

BUT! Every student involved can tell you how much fun it is and the relationships that have been built with our little buddies is phenomenal.  We use this event to teach our student how they can be a part of the body of Christ and practice sharing the Gospel with someone.

If you would like more information about how you can be part of the body of Christ here at FAC, please contact us.  All areas of student ministry, birth through high school, are in need of volunteers.  Some areas are critically low on volunteers.  Volunteering, while a time commitment, is simple and incredibly rewarding. Let us together say “yes” to those coming after us as we live out our new vision for FAC and raise up the next generation.
