The Message is Hope

First Alliance Church

If one thing is clear from reading the Bible – God has designed us to be in community. From the very beginning God saw that it wasn’t good for us to be alone. From the Old Testament structure of worship and family to Jesus’ disciples to the early churches the message is clear – we are meant to live and grow together.

Everyone needs a safe place to share, to live, to vent, to do life together. Everyone needs a

group of people to feel open to “letting their hair down” with and talking about real life issues.

We grow in our faith to the degree we are engaged with others also in the faith journey. We spur others on and we are spurred on ourselves to grow closer to God.

A new study from LifeWay Research found that those who are not involved in a group are

missing out on one of the most effective tools for Christian growth.

Being in a group also impacts our daily lives. According to research, small group members feel closer to God (69 percent), understand the Bible better (74 percent), trust God more (66

percent), and become more loving in their relationships (48 percent).

You cannot make disciples apart from community. Although groups are not the only place transformation happens, the authors are convinced it is the primary place.

Here at First Alliance, we have a network of Life Groups that meet all over the area. If you are looking to get connected to others, grow deeper in your faith, and be encouraged in your faith by people that know your story and are sincerely concerned about your well-being – a Life Group is for you!

We can plug you into an existing group, or you can even start your own. If you are curious

about how it works or how to jump in, contact me. I’d love to chat about how to get connected.
